Will importing and/or syncing with remember the milk be possible
eventually?

Thank you for your feedback.  While currently there is no functionality available to sync tasks between applications, Remember the Milk does allow you to download a list of your tasks in the ics file format (see here).  You can then import them into Google tasks by uploading that ics file and selecting "iCalendar" from the dropdown on the import page.

Perfect! I was almost sure it was possible but was confused by the wording of the blog and app, which seemed to imply that it wasn't possible. There's probably a lot of data loss in the process as Google Tasks doesn't include all of RTM's fields, right?

There is a certain amount of data loss, yes.  This is mitigated somewhat, hoever, by the fact that when you export from RTM to iCalendar, RTM compacts a number of different custom fields into the description field.  We import all fields from RTM that are standard iCalendar fields with direct correspondance to a field in Google Tasks.
