That's my question too.  I don't know how to put the snippet on my google web site.  You think that this would be perfectly clear since its a google site working with google tag manager, but I can't even get an answer to this first step.  Any help?
I tried right clicking on each page of my site and opening up "inspect element" and inserting the snippet right below where is says "body" but it never stays there, google takes it out. Help with this first step would be HUGE!

Thanks!

While you can configure Google Analytics for Google Sites without Google Tag Manager, there is not currently a supported way to deploy Google Tag Manager on a Google Site.

Thanks for the feedback that this functionality would be useful for you. We will pass your feedback on to the Google Sites team, and may improve this area down the road.

thanks a lot for your reply scott !

it would be HUGE i believe for google to allow for the integration of re-marketing into sites, perhaps if you built a container for sites that only took into tags from GTM, that would allow for this, without having to allow complete HTML modifications to a google site codebase.

i am 95% running my complete business on google platforms including the use of sites (www.inspect.net) ... what i want NEED is for adwords campaigns to be able to use re-marketing on my website, my business is very dependent on the value of re-marketing, since the process my customers go through involves a lot of time, making decisions about important and expensive purchases (housing).

i think this applies to many markets, so the ability to do this seems to me like it would add a lot of value for a lot of companies, and be very well received.

thank you for the GTM update, awesome !!!

The inability to use Google's own ad system on Google Sites is why I'm moving my site off of it. It's a huge undertaking, but I waited long enough for support to show up for it, and I really need the ability to show ads and do remarketing so it finally became a deal breaker. You would think that it would have support for it since it's a Google property, but no dice.

So please add my voice to chorus of people wanting this functionality. If you search the web, you can see many other people who want it as well.
