Age Requirement

I read on the FAQ that there's an 18+ age requirement. Is this a firm
rule, or can it be bent? Why does it exist?

Primarily, employing minors is infinitely more legally convoluted and no one can afford the time for the necessary paperwork.

i want to know that, can a person who pursuing a master degree in
computer application is eligible for google summer of code?

if yes, then which technical quality person should have?

pls.. suggest me?

It is best to start a new email thread / post to a mailing list rather than to respond to a previous message when asking a new question. For example, this thread is about the age requirement for the program, whereas you are asking about what skills are needed to participate in GSoC.

To answer your question, yes a person seeking a Masters degree is eligible for GSoC. As far as what skills are required, that is heavily dependent on which projects you would like to work on.
