Hello everyone,

I'm very much interested in doing GSoC this year and I have a small technical doubt.

Assuming an organization is under an umbrella organization for around 2 years, and now if it applies as an independent organization, will it have constraints on number of projects (just like any other new organization applying)?

I was just wondering what the consequences might be, so it'd be great if someone could help me out on this! :)

Thanks,
William

Hi William-

We typically give new orgs a limited number of student slots (typically only 2) so that they can become familiar with GSoC, mentoring, org admin duties, etc.  But if you've already been a part of GSoC in previous years under an umbrella, we'll take that into consideration. Please make sure to make a note of it in your application somewhere.

Thank you-
Mary
