Registration for GSoC

Could you please let me know whether we need to register for GSoC or simply signing in to the GSoC website with a Google. ID is sufficient? 

In other words, is there some other registration form we should fill before participation? If yes, where can we access this?

Registration for GSoC contributors opens April 4 at 1800 UTC and closes April 19 at 1800 UTC. On April 4, there will be a Contributor Registration link in the left navigation menu (and a Contributor Registration button on the home page) where interested contributors will be able to register themselves for the program and submit their project proposal.

You do not have to provide an ID to register for GSoC. If you are accepted into the program you will have to provide additional documentation ito our payments processor in order to receive the stipend.

We highly encourage interested GSoC contributors go to the program site g.co/gsoc now and look through the 203 mentoring organizations and find a few that interest them and look at the Project Ideas listed for each organization. Then reach out directly to the organization via their communication methods (found on each organization's page on the GSoC site) to discuss the project ideas that interest you. Communicating with the organizations now will greatly increase your chances of being selected by an organization.They want to know you are interested in their organization and are excited to work on the project.
