Regarding interim period

On 24th February, the list of accepted organisations would be published on Google summer of code website. After that there is an interim period till 10th March. What is to be done in the interim period? The FAQ states "Would-be students discuss project ideas with potential mentoring organisations"...what does that mean? Do we suggest projects to the organisation? Please explain.

I think that explains it pretty well, you don't? You discuss the ideas with the organizations you potentially want to work with. What needs further clarification?
