Hi,

When we submit various proposals to various organisations, how is the project we're going to work on determined? For example, in the off-chance that you get accepted in two of the three proposals, do you have any choice in what you're actually going to work on? Or is GSOC organised in a way that stops that from happening? If so, is it possible to set a preference on each proposal?

Thanks,
Pedro

Hello Pedro,

When we submit various proposals to various organisations, how is the project we're going to work on determined? For example, in the off-chance that you get accepted in two of the three proposals, do you have any choice in what you're actually going to work on? Or is GSOC organised in a way that stops that from happening? If so, is it possible to set a preference on each proposal?

If you plan to submit multiple proposals to multiple orgs then you should be sure to write in your top #1 choice that while you are applying to a couple of orgs their org is your #1 choice. In the rare situation where multiple orgs select your proposal the org that selects your proposal first will be the one that you will work with. However, if the 2nd org tries to accept you and sees that you have already been accepted by another org they can contact that first org and show that you stated in your proposal their org is your #1 choice. Generally the org that first selected you will release you to the 2nd org.

Thanks,
Pedro
