regarding submission of project

sir, m new to gsoc... so dont know, how to submit projects to mentor organisations, and submit to which mentor organisation.... and on what basis they will select our projects, recommend us for gsoc partipication.....  i have read the gsoc procedure, still unable to understand.... plz sir, if can help me to make me understand the process with litlle bit of examples.... i will be vry grateful to u
