Do not wait until the last minute to submit your proposal!
Applications close on Tuesday, April 8th at 1800 UTC, remember there are no extensions to the deadline for any reason. Be sure you are aware of all GSoC Program rules and deadlines.
Best practice
Submit your proposal at least 24 hours before the deadline to assure your proposal is submitted for review.
Please keep these tips in mind:
If you are trying to reach out to one of the 185 mentoring organizations now, understand that at this late point in the application period many of the orgs (and mentors) will not have time to respond to you.
Do not wait to get feedback from a mentor to submit your proposal. If the mentor does respond before the submission deadline you can always go in and upload a newer version of your proposal *until the April 8 1800 UTC deadline. You can re-submit your proposal with edits as many times as you want until the April 8 1800 UTC deadline.
Read the FAQ, contributor guide, writing a proposal and advice for applying.
Tip for the GSoC site - When registering as a contributor for the first time you will need to scroll down on the GSoC homepage and click on the ‘register as a contributor’ button before you will be able to log in through the ‘log in’ button in the upper right corner of the page.
If you are interested in applying, submit project proposals on the GSoC site before Tuesday, April 8th at 18:00 UTC when the application window closes.
Best of luck to all our applicants!
