Dear Community, (I thought that added a personal touch)
I would like to get involved in GSoC, but don't know where to get
started, or even if I have a chance of getting selected. I am a 1st
year CS student with 3 years of professional experience programming.

Languages/Technologies I have experience in (in no particular order):
- Java
- C#
- C++
- Python
- ASP.NET (ugh)
- PHP
- (X)HTML
- CSS
- JS (with and without frameworks)

Let me know if and how I should apply!

Thanks in advance.

I suggest that you read the Google Open Source Blog[1]. Information
about GSoC 2010 will be published there. You could also take a look at
the list of accepted organizations for GSoC 2009[2], and see if
anything looks interesting. Getting involved early is always a good
thing :)

Also worth mentioning, is that there is an FAQ (you should be doing leg
work here) -- read that. The FAQ can be found using the second link
mentioned in the email below.
