what is melange???what it is for? how it relate with gsoc?

Melange is the software that runs http://www.google-melange.com/ which is the homepage for the Google Summer of Code and Google Code-in programs.

When you participate in one of these programs, you will need to create an account on there to be able to apply for projects to work on.

Melange is in itself an open source project and may or may not participage in GSoC as an organisation.
