You should take a look at the list of all accepted organizations (for
GSoC 2009): http://socghop.appspot.com/program/accepted_orgs/google/gsoc2009

Check too the list from previous years, that you can see in
http://code.google.com/soc/.

If GSoC 2010 happens (nobody knows yet), maybe any org missing in 2009
could be back, or other new orgs can be in the list.
Just select a project that you use and you're passionate about, and
start collaborating ASAP for having more chances of being selected as
student.
