GSOC eligibility

Hi

I am working as a intern currently.If i can commit 45+ hours per week for Gsoc ,am i eligible for applying for Gsoc.Is there a working hours constraint for Gsoc.Can i apply for Gsoc while i am still an intern.I have filled the proposal and my mentor asked me to verify before submitting the proposal.

It is generally not a good idea to have another full-time job in addition to GSoC, as explained in the FAQ:

You say you can commit 45 hours per week to GSoC. How much does that leave for your internship? You will easily end up at 60 or more hours per week. Nobody can keep that up for 3 months and deliver good work.

From the sound of it, I'd suggest skipping GSoC in your own interest.

My internship work is also on the same Organization that i am applying for. Also my internship ends by May 2014. Would it be still a bad idea to apply for Gsoc ?

You should speak to the organization you'd like to work with and see
what they advise.
