Hi

I was just wondering over the idea of having an Apache Discussion
channel for students (for those selected in gsoc)

I would like to draw views over this from the students selected for
Apache this year or have been part of Apache in previous years. Others
are also welcome.

What about lurking over #apache-discuss on Freenode IRC and know each
other better ?

Please do tell me if this seem to be a feasible idea.
(Moreover it would be nice who like this idea to lurk over #apache-
discuss)

Thanks

Akshay,

You'll get a better and faster response if you contact *directly* the
Apache organisation administrator. He knows each student accepted, and maybe
he can provide you means to contact others accepted.

Have fun,
Timotei

Hi there,

Questions specific to Apache should be directed to the Apache
contributors, not to the general Google Summer of Code mailing list.

Thanks,
Carol

We already have a mailing list for this purpose subscribe to
d...@community.apache.org

For more info see http://community.apache.org/newcomers/index.html

The ASF does not have any official IRC channels as we ind asynchronous
communications a detrimental to building a community that spans all the
timeszones. That being said, some people do use IRC, naturally.
