how to start open source contribution

Hello
I want to start contribution in open source projects but I only know Object oriented design and data structures and algorithms but not understanding how to start open source contribution.
I would like to start from Google summer of code my first contribution please help me to understand how I can start.

Hi Siddharth,

each project usually has its own contributing guide, for example this one: https://github.com/arxlang/arx/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md

but also you can find some general guideline like this one: https://opensource.guide/how-to-contribute/
