Today we announced the 172 mentoring organizations that will be a part of Google Summer of Code 2023.

Just a reminder for anyone interested in being a Google Summer of Code contributor for 2023 - please start reaching out to the organizations now (before the March 20th Contributor application date begins) to give yourself a much better chance of being accepted into the program.

This year GSoC is open to students and beginners to open source that are 18 years and older. The 172 mentor organizations are looking for contributors that are excited about their community and reaching out to the orgs and talking to them about their project ideas is the best way to do that. You can use the filters to help you narrow down your list by programming language  (python, C++, etc.) and by category (data, development tools, infrastructure and cloud, security, etc.).

Remember that on March 20th a lot more interested GSoC contributors will reach out to the mentors and ask questions so they won't have as much time to respond to you to help you make your proposal better. Being proactive and communicating with the orgs over these next couple of weeks is always a good idea if you are serious about being a GSoC 2023 contributor.

March 20-April 4 is when you can actually register on the program site g.co/gsoc and submit your proposal.
