You can't *EDIT* the proposal now , however If you had given some links within the proposal , then you can edit the content of that link. I mean if you wrote the proposal of 1000 words and stored whole of content(almost) externally , then sure you can edit , however within melange this is not feasible _Right Now_

This is what i did.I gave only the links in the proposal and my actual content was there is google docs. Now my worry is this may leads to disqualification if the editing is against the rules and  i  do it in google docs. Thanks for ur clarification. You said it is not feasible right now with in melange means they fixing this bug and going to work in future..rite?

Provided your mentors are OK with you making the updates to your proposal that you are making - in other words, you are responding to their feedback requests - this is fine. If you have decided to update a Google doc after the fact because you didn't put in an application on time (and are now adding the kind of detail that would make your previous submission a worthwhile proposal) then that is not OK.

I don't want to get into splitting hairs here about what does and doesn't make a good application and how much updating a proposal after the deadline in response to mentor feedback is OK, etc. We trust our mentors. I know they're going to notice if someone put in a substandard, hastily dashed off proposal framework before the deadline and is now hastily adding details to it. And I know they'll know that's not a student proposal they'll want to accept.

Cheers,
LH

Heya,
It's a missing feature :).
We are going to add a checkbox that, if set by a mentor, allows the
student to edit their proposal. For now you should post any updates as
a comment on your application, or post a new version of your
application
somewhere else (like Google Docs) and link to it in a comment.
We're trying to add this checkbox as soon as possible, but don't rely
on
it, in other words, use the workarounds mentioned above until the
checkbox
is available.
