Hi,

Being a PhD student, I would like to know if I am eligible to take part on GSoC.
And does having a scholarship in my home country changes things?

All the best,
Felipe

Hi Felipe,

PhD students are eligible, assuming they meet all the requirements in the rules. Don't know re your scholarship- check with your school.

Good luck!

Hi, Felipe

I am also a PhD student. Here is the quote from the Rules:

6. Students.
6.1 Eligibility.
(a) Requirements. To participate in the Program, a Student must:
(i) be eighteen (18) years of age or older upon registration for the Program;
(ii) be enrolled in or accepted into an accredited institution, including a college, university, masters program, PhD program and/or undergraduate program, as of the Acceptance Date;

So, it is not forbidden for PhD students to take part in the CSoC. Nevertheless, there are other terms and conditions in the Rules which you have to check.

Hello

I have doen the program successfully as a PhD student. If you are studying in a different country than your citizenship, you might want to check with University International Students office regarding work hour restrictions on your visa if any.

Regards,

Vijay

Wow! Thanks for asking and answering about this earlier, I was also curious about age restrictions they say above 18 but I think it is OK to be above collage age :) Nice!
