Hi, I'm from Natinal university of Singapore, electrical and computer
engineering departement. My questions are related to working hours.
Since, i can only make up 2 hours each day for Gsoc, are they enough
for this program?
what's more, i haven't participated in any large-scale project. All my
programming experiences came from several courses in our university
and some small programs as useful tools in my other domain's study. Is
it enough or say eligible for this project?
Thanks so much!

First of all, while you may not have realized this, it is considered to be impolite to send the same message to a mailing list twice. You should send your message and wait for an answer. Some people will tell you to wait a week, but you should at least wait a day or two. Most people working on Open Source are doing so as volunteers so they are busy and cannot always respond right away.

As for only having 2 hours per day for GSoC, I think that means you do not have enough time to participate in the program. Most mentoring organizations want you to concentrate on your project at least 20 hours per week, and usually more hours than 20. If you are able to free up more time in your schedule, then you would be in a great position to apply.

Good luck!

Best,
LH

I am really very sorry for my mistake. My apology to everyone!
Actually when i finished my first post and clicked 'send', my brower
just stopped there and i thought that maybe my internet connection has
a problem(it always have problems) so i restart my router and also the
brower. Since after five minutes i still didn't see my post, i
thought the router turned me down again and i wrote the post again.
But in any case, i am really regretful and sincerely say sorry again
to everyone.
I think in maximum, my free time won't surpass 25 hours each week
before june. But during july and Auguest, i can make it up to 40 hours
each week. Hope these will be enough.
Thanks very much for your response!
can i ask one more question, how many applicants for this program each
year?
