inquiry about gsoc timeline extension

Hey, 
can anyone answer these questions:
1. how many days of extension is possible to take?
2. what is the last date to apply for extension?
3. which gets shifted after extension approval: mid term evaluation or end term evaluation ?
4. is there a deduction of stipend ?

1. how many days of extension is possible to take?

up to 22 weeks for medium and large projects, 12 weeks for small projects

 

2. what is the last date to apply for extension?

it should be done before more than 10 days before the midterm evaluation begins

3. which gets shifted after extension approval: mid term evaluation or end term evaluation ?

both 

4. is there a deduction of stipend ?

no, same stipend even if you increase the project length as the scope has not changed, you are just spreading the project over more weeks.

Can the extension period be shortened, if I previously over estimated the time required to complete the project or I was able to speed things up and complete before the final date after taking extension ?

You need to talk to your mentor to make any adjustments.

It depends on how much you need to shorten it. You'll need to contact your mentor and see if they are fine wrapping the project earlier, if so then they will ask the Org Admin to make the adjustments.
