GSoC meetups in Madrid, Spain (Jan 28) and Brussels, Belgium (Feb 1)

We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a couple of GSoC meetups in Europe over the few weeks. We hope you can join us.
Pre-registration is required for all of these events. As a reminder, we do not offer any kind of travel assistance or funding to attend any of these events (including issuing visa invitations).
Madrid, Spain
Tuesday, January 28th - Google Developers Group (GDG) Meetup featuring GSoC (18:30-20:30)
We are working with the local GDG team to host a GDG meetup talking about the importance of open source and tips about GSoC in the Google for Startups space.
You are welcome to invite your friends who want to learn more about open source and GSoC.

Brussels, Belgium (during FOSDEM)
Google Summer of Code (GSoC) will be returning to FOSDEM this year in Brussels! While we do not have a table this year we will be hosting our large GSoC meetup dinner Saturday night.
Google Summer of Code meetup - Saturday, Feb 1 6:30-9pm
If you’re in the Brussels area, please join us for a Google Summer of Code meetup. We welcome previous GSoC participants (mentors, GSoC students/contributors, and org admins) and those interested in learning more about the program.
When: Saturday, February 1st 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM (during FOSDEM weekend)
Where: Brewdog Brussels, Putterie 20, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium (near Grand Place)

You are confirmed once you register and we will send additional details about a week before the event with directions, check-in procedures, etc. If you need to cancel after registering, please cancel your reservation through RSVP or email (gsoc-s...@google.com) so we can get another person into the event. Registration will be on a first-come-first serve basis. Once all spaces are filled we will begin a waitlist.
Future GSoC 2025 Meetups
We are planning more GSoC meetups in other locations later this year in Asia, Europe and the United States but have not confirmed the dates or exact locations yet. Once we have dates confirmed we will post another email to this list.
