Hello,

If organizations absent for 1 year then will it affect their count of slots allocation and what are other factos google will consider for slots allocation other than no projects google going to fund and no of Participated organizations?

Organizations can skip a year or two (or more) of GSoC and that does not affect the number of contributor slots they will receive.

There are many factors that go into Google's decision on how many contributor slots any org will receive. Namely their experience mentoring contributors in the past (and feedback from previous contributors about the org), meeting deadlines, the work they are doing in OSS, number of mentors they have available, etc.

All 195 orgs this year have requested contributors so there will be at least 1 contributor assigned to each org. Many orgs will have more than that, particularly the umbrella orgs that have many sub-projects underneath them.

Organizations new to Google Summer of Code will usually only receive a few contributors for their first year.

All accepted GSoC 2024 contributors will be announced May 1st at 1800 UTC. All participants who submitted proposals will receive an email from Google on May 1st shortly after 1800 UTC with the status of their application.

Best,
Stephanie
