Hello everyone,
First of all, many thanks to the 395 organizations who applied to
participate in Google Summer of Code 2009. This year was the best set
of applications we have ever received for the program in terms of
quality of both the applications and Ideas lists, and we had to make
some very difficult decisions when narrowing the list of applicants to
the 150 organizations that were accepted [0].
For those folks who have not yet been added to the private mentors
mailing list [1], we are planning to begin adding you to the list on
Monday, 23 March. In order to be added to the list, you will need to
have applied to be a mentor for your organization [2] and have your
request to mentor approved by your organization administrator [3].
There are a few organizations who have not yet completed their
organization profiles [4]. This must be done by Monday, 23 March or
students cannot apply to your organization. If this is not taken care
of on time, we will ask you to leave the program.
Finally, please remember to file bugs or feature requests for Melange
[5], the software that powers the the GSoC 2009 website [6]. You can
add requests for clarification of the system documentation [7] in the
same issue tracker. Not only will it help the developer team improve
your experience for GSoC, but for any other groups who choose to make
use of this completely Open Source code base for their own projects/
programs.
