Hello everyone,

First of all, our heartiest congratulations to all of our students and
mentors for another spectacular Summer of Code! This year, 87% of our
original group of 1125 students completed their projects to the
satisfaction of their mentors and communities, which is just
excellent. We'll be featuring end of year round up reports on the
Summer of Code on the Google Open Source Blog over the next few weeks,
so keep your eye out for more news.[0]

The results of final evaluations are now available for all student
participants in the web app. In order to obtain your final evaluation
score, please login and check your student dashboard.[1]

If your accepted application line still reads "application accepted,"
you passed your final evaluation. If your accepted application line
reads "disqualified," either you did not pass your final evaluation or
your mentor did not turn in an evaluation for you. We had very few
missing evaluation this time around, so chances are it is the former
versus the latter.

No matter what the results of your evaluation, now is a great time for
students and mentors to kick back, discuss successes and failures and
plan for the future. As we've always said, we hope our students will
stick around long after the program is over and keep contributing, and
the way to make that happen is to start planning now.

More news on code sample submissions and the all important t-shirt
coming soon!

Cheers,
LH

Hello everyone,

Please recheck your student dashboard page [0] for the results of your
evaluation. It came to my attention that our last push did not, in
fact, update this information in the web application. My sincerest
apologies if you thought you had passed and you now discover you did
not.

OTOH, if you're in regular contact with your mentor, you'd likely know
the answer to this. And the answer is likely that you passed. :)

Best,
LH

Hello folks,

We recrunched the numbers after getting in all our missing final
evaluations and our final success rate for Summer of Code 2008 is
actually 83%. I'm actually quite happy with this since it still means
that GSoC 2008 had our highest success rate for the program for all
four years. :)

Life is good. You may be interested in this post on the Google Open
Source Blog.
