Permission denied (or the resource may not exist) on instance after monitoring agent instalation

Can't set up monitoring due to next error:

/var/log/syslog

It happens after install-monitoring-agent.sh installation.

I also enable Allow HTTP(S) traffic on the instance and Cloud and Stackdrive Monitoring API

Any ideas how to fix or what API or other things to enable?

Is the instance running on GCE or AWS EC2? If the former, does the instance have the right scopes enabled? If the latter, do you have the key for the service account with the correct permissions? See https://cloud.google.com/monitoring/agent/troubleshooting#verify-project.

Thank you, Igor! The problem was in absent credentials on the instance.

The solution in my case was https://cloud.google.com/monitoring/agent/install-agent#private_key_authorization
