Setup Uptime check on Google compute instance without external IP

Is it possible to setup a uptime check on stackdriver on an google compute instance without external IP address ?

Hello,

  No, this is not yet possible. This is something we are looking to add in the near future.

  For now, you can put your external IP behind a firewall and whitelist only the IP addresses from the Uptime system, if you don't want the instance to be accessible to everyone. For more information, see https://cloud.google.com/monitoring/uptime-checks/#monitoring_uptime_check_list_ips-console.
