Support for Prometheus deployments with multiple replicas

Hello, is Stackdriver sidecar supported to be deployed in scenarios where Prometheus deployment has a replica count of 2?

If the answer is yes, would we then end with duplicate metrics in Cloud Monitoring or there is some deduplication available on the receiving end?

I'm following this tutorial https://medium.com/google-cloud/prometheus-and-stackdriver-fb8f7524ece0.

Hi Fabricio,

The sidecar has no support for HA or deduplication. We recommend running it on only one replica server.

Note that we have a few new products in the pipeline that will replace the sidecar and be far more usable. Expect to hear some announcements on this front in late September / early October.
