If you click on "Installed" on Google play, it should reinstall it again.
But since you have issues with Google mail, it's likely that your problem with wrong sun position had nothing to do with sky map.

Okay, so this is a common problem, and I am not the only one to be surprised to see the sun up in the horizon in the night sky.

I'm experiencing the same problem with a Nexus 4 Sky Map installation. Celestial bodies are app-indicated in a position that is some hours prior to the current location.

The phone clock uses network time, adjusted for DST, and a 24-hour clock.

Can someone suggest a solution please?

I had the same problem when I first used Sky Map.  I tried changing the location city name, but it wouldn't let me do that (it still won't let me do that).  However, when I manually changed the location using coordinates in decimal degrees to be my city (it defaulted to Pisa, Italy on my device) then the sun showed up in it's correct position in the daytime sky.  I will go out this evening to see if the other stars, planets, and constellations will now be in their correct positions.

Hi All,

All my location settings etc are perfect.

So I uninstalled Google Sky Maps from my Galaxy Note

Now I cannot re install it again...GooglePlay tells me its already installed on my device.

If its of any help...the Android system got re updated a few weeks ago....
after that the battery drains out every two hours.
and google maps always shows me the wrong position.

Please help.
