Hello guys! I forked your code and i'm trying to create a custom version of sky map around, but I got into something that my development skills doesn't seem to be able to figure out.

While looking at the sky I can see that it grabbed some random strings like "Search in the Sky", "Settings", "Travelling to..." being put in the stars' name.

Does anyone around have enough skills to point me into the right direction to fix this?

I've uploaded the code with some very little changes I made into my GitHub account: https://github.com/gafanhotz/skymap

Thank you!

Pedro,
I had the same experience. IIRC (it's been a while) it has to do with a difference in handling the automatically-generated resources differently in Gradle/Android Studio vs. Eclipse.

Have you run the script to regenerate the protobuf files for the star names?

Hey Sean,

I sent by accident a reply as private to you.

> Actually no, I didn't. I did import the project on Eclipse and everything went fine, but since the ADT Plugin is discontinue I'd like to try to move it do Android Studio. Can you point me a way to run the scripts?

Pedro,
Sorry, I should have been clearer.  I imported the project into Android Studio and hit the same issue as you.  IIRC, the fix is to regenerate the data for objects by running the script.

Take a look at this issue, which I believe covers it:

See comment #1 for instructions for regenerating the resource IDs.  IIRC, I was working on Windows and had issues running the script to regenerate the IDs, so I never ended up fixing the strings in my quick test.

(As replied through email:)

Sean,
Thank you very much! I'll give it try and and if I get to fix it, I'll update this thread.
