Vlookup function doesn't recognize values with a dash

I'm trying to look for a value a number specifically to coincide with values in another table. The number in the cell is something like this 2112-2107. The adjacent cell has the information queried from another table shows 2112-2107. The vlookup refers to the queried cell and to return a value base on that number. Any cell where the part number does not contain dashes will return the value request. The cells with the part numbers that contain dashes will not. What am I missing here?!

Sounds like a data type issue, have you tried changing the data type to string?
