Reference to other sheet gives wrong answer

I have quite a complex, multiple sheet, Google spreadsheet.
In the sheet 'Register', the formula in cell DC127:
=COUNTIF(DC$4:DC$124, ">0"), result 17. This is the correct answer.
In another sheet I have this formula:
=COUNTIF(Register!DC4:DC124, ">0"), result 16. Wrong!
I tried:
=Register!DC127. Same result, 16.
What am I doing wrong? This feels like a bug in Sheets.

Found the problem - somehow I had setup a custom number format
(26?) which subtracted 1 from any number. Weird.
Now OK using Automatic format.
