info suddenly starts disappearing

At work, we have a Google Sheet that 10+ people make changes to. Multi tab. One of the tabs is nearing 10,000 rows. Today, as one of our team members was entering data, data in nearby cells suddenly disappeared. This has happened to him about 8 times in the last two hours. Does anyone have any ideas what's going on?

Disappeared Temporarily or Permanently?

Check Version History: This is your "Black Box" recorder. It will tell you if the data was deleted by a person, a script, or overwritten by a sync error.

Protect Ranges: If certain columns contain formulas, Protect them (Data > Protect sheets and ranges) so only the admin can edit them.

Audit Connectivity: Ask the specific team member if they are on a stable connection. High-latency connections (like spotty office Wi-Fi or a weak VPN) are the primary cause of sync collisions in large sheets.
