Hi Search Educators,

***Please excuse cross-posting****

We've been pretty quiet as we are hard at work on the Advanced Power Searching course, but I am taking a bit of time off next week to try out a new type of event via Google Hangouts. I hear from you that students often question the usefulness of knowing how to do research, so I am bringing in professionals for whom research is an integral part of how they excel in their fields and build strong careers. In addition, I am selecting people who work in professions of which students might not otherwise be aware. So this brief Hangout is kind of a two-for-one deal--learn about intriguing career options and witness how research skills can make the particular career path possible.

The inaugural session of this occasional series will feature the folks who inspired the idea in the first place: professional Sourcers Glen Cathey and Nick Whiteman of Randstad Sourceright. They find strong candidates for jobs their clients need to fill, and make fantastic use of search and research in the process.

What:      Research Career Fair
Where:    The Hangout will occur on www.google.com/+GoogleinEducation. The archive will be available at http://www.youtube.com/user/eduatgoogle.
When:     December 11, 2012 (1pm Eastern, 10am Pacific)
How:       Come to www.google.com/+GoogleinEducation and look for the post for the Hangout. Click "play" and watch it right there in the stream. You need to be able to access YouTube to watch this Hangout.
