Dear all,

I tried to crawl a SPS 2007 server using the connector from URL:
http://www.demodulated.com/crap/sharepoint_connector_2.0.zip

Trying to run the connector I got the following message. Can anyone
explain to me what is the problem? What do you suggest to do

Follows the log

Looks like you are getting a 401 error.  Can you confirm that your credentials are right?

Dear Michael,

Thank you for the reply. I DO confirm that the credentials are
correct. I made many tries using different accounts (local admin,
global admin, users etc), but with no success.

Looking the IIS Log of the SPS site, I found something very strange.
The IP of SPS is 10.1.242.164 and at the log it shows that the
application tries to access an IP 192.168.0.1!!! Funny fact is that I
don't have any server/PC with this IP. Just for test I pinged the IP
192.168.0.1 and I got reply!!! I can not explain this very weird
reaction.

Follows part of the log when the connector runs using admin's
credentials

I'm back with some useful findings:

1) I created a local user, in SPS server (ex. LocalhostComputerName
\Username, that's how I use the account in following steps)
2) I added the user to Group= Administrators
3) In SPS Settings> Site Collection Administrators, I added this user
4) I added the user to connector's config file

After that, the connector run normally.

P.S. During the tests, I removed this user from SPS>Users and
Permissions>Advanced Permissions and still the connector runs w/o any
issue.
