Bottom navigation links - Restrict number

We are using the 'link' setting for 'choose_bottom_navigation' in our xslt.

When a search returns over a hundred matches, you see links for prev/next and pages 1-10.

When you click on page 10, the frontend displays links for prev/next and pages 1-20.

Has anyone found a way to keep the page link list to only 10, like how google.com does it?

There is a XSLT template called result_nav which is responsible for the numbers.
