What is the difference b/w the GSA GB 1001 and GB 7007 models. Please
give the full details of the two models, the technical specs and the
main differences b/w two.

Thanks

Google does not publish the information about the hardware
specifications of their appliances.

Hi,

Here is a link to the some of the tech specs
http://code.google.com/apis/searchappliance/documentation/62/planning/planning.html#ElecTechReq
I would say the basic difference is that the GB 1001 is the old model
which has been replaced by the GB 7007, the GB1001 is still supported,
however it can only index a maximum of 3Million docs, where as the GB
7007 is capable of indexing 10Million, so obviously it will have more
hard drive space and RAM to accommodate a larger index.

The 7007 is the replacement for the 1001. They both fill the same
basic niche. Neither has an especially high level of built-in
redundancy. The GB-1001 is no longer available for license, and if you
currently have GB-1001s, they'll eventually be replaced with 7007s as
your licenses are renewed.
