We know it can be tricky to take those first steps, that's why googlesciencefair.com has some great resources to get you started!

• First of all, read through the rules really carefully - these have been put in place to keep you and everyone around you safe, and they are the most important thing to know clearly. if you break a rule we'll have no choice but to disqualify you, and we really don't want to do that!
  
• Take a look at the For Participants section - this has everything you could possibly need to get you started on a project and with building your project site.
  
• Make it better - this great tool takes what you love, what you're good at and what you want to change and gives you areas to explore based on these.
  
• Ask questions - to anyone who'll listen! Your friends and parents may give you inspiration, even when you don't expect them to! Also speak to your teachers and show them the classroom resources available on the site.
  
• Find a mentor - don't have the right equipment? Want to learn a new area of science or engineering? Look at local universities, labs and businesses to see if they can help you. Shree, our first ever winner, just wrote emails to universities until someone took her on!

You could also speak to a teacher - there are classroom resources which you could ask them to review with you to help you build your project.

hi I made a light that turns on by sensors connected by bluetooth to the lights and a blanket that adjusts its temperature depending on what you feel like. it like goes into you but not literrally because i dont know how to say it in words but it does that then adjusts to how your body wants to feel

You need to pick one project idea for Google Science Fair. Your project will need to follow either the scientific or engineering method, so you'll need something you can test. There are lots of resources on googlesciencefair.com to help you on your way, but a good starting point is the Make Better Generator, which will give you areas to explore.

This forum is for questions so please ask all on here, not by email. 

It's great that you're interested in Computer Science. One section of the project template is Research, so you will need to look into this and find out what is already available and discuss how it has shaped your own idea.

I want to do a project on mosquito repellent machine.mosquitoes are attracted by carbon dioxide easily,so i want to take a box and produce carbon dioxide inside it.and I will keep a electric fence supplied with current so that they are attracted and when they come near to it they will be killed by electric shock.but I am facing a problem ,it is how to prepare carbon dioxide cheaply and long lasting.the project is to supply the equipmentfor poor people.it should be less cost and more efficient.so pleaseh help me.

Yes, your project needs to follow either the scientific or engineering method, so you need to include a full project with hypothesis, experiment, research, results and conclusion.

In your summary section you can add either a 2-minute YouTube video or 20-slide Google Slide presentation. You don't have to add these - you have to have a written summary - but it's a great idea to bring your project to life. 

You can choose to add presentations and videos to other areas of your project but they will be considered as additional content and the judges are not guaranteed to look at it.

i have an idea about the wireless transmission of energy but don't know in detail about it , i would like to give some description about my idea -
for charging a device like a phone ,laptop etc., we would connect it by a cable. my idea is that cant we do it with out using wires. i.e., cant we transfer it through electro magnetic waves like we can set up a range for the transmission and the devices in that range could get charged

You can use existing software in your project, you just can't mention the brand name. You would need to say that you used a software which enabled you to do x. Then, in your References section you should add what the name of the software was.
