Hello to our Google Meter API clients!

As an important reminder - if you are batch-uploading data to Google PowerMeter your uploads are required to have a
tag identifying the type of event, since the Google Meter API now accepts both durational and instantaneous measurements.

Specifically, every
element posted to the batch feed at https://www.google.com/powermeter/feeds/event needs to contain a
element identifying the kind of event, e.g.:

or

Please note that although the
tag is described as required in the API documentation, this requirement has not yet been enforced - but enforcement is imminent!

To ensure that there is no disruption to your batch data uploads, we'd like to request that you review your batch upload process as soon as possible to ensure that it properly includes the
tag when posting data.

Thank you,

-- Rolf Schreiber, on behalf of the Google PowerMeter team
