Deprecating thumbnails for picked Google Drive items

Hey everyone,

Since the thumbnails returned for Google Drive items expire in 24 hours, it is probably not worthwhile to return them. We, therefore plan to no longer return thumbnails for picked Google Drive items from Feb 7, 2013.

However, if anyone has been using them, just let us know with the domain name they are using or a link to their usage.

Thanks for confirming this.

Could this please be reflected in the Reference Guide? https://developers.google.com/picker/docs/reference#Thumbnail

Would save new developers some time as the guide is currently misleading.

Actually we planned to use it in Plupload (http://plupload.com) to show immediate thumbnails where possible. So how do we request the thumbnails now - doing a separate call for file metadata?
