Futur of the API and the Service

Hi,

I think all of us here know, the 20th October, the API will be shut down (https://developers.google.com/moderator),

so, who know something about a futur version of the API or a possibly merging ?

What about the service, it will be also shut down ? (after the next election, cause : http://www.google.com/moderator/#16/e=1fe6a2)
