Such a great and useful solution... 

I've been playing with this for about a week now and, even as a noob to js, it's terrific.

Anyone have any suggestions on a streamline/simpified method to just order a list and return it?

I have to admin I'm failing miserably, probably because I'm so new to js, at simplfying the example code down to 

a single linear type function...
