Hi,

I have a project that I am pondering whether I can do it this way:

Use Google Map Javascript library to talk to a WMS base map server,
running without using Internet. In other words, my WMS map will be
serving from a Intranet, and the client computer will not have access
to public Internet.

Here are things that constraint this project:
1. Could be no Internet,
2. We hope to continue to use Google map client, which we used for
already-built application.

Is this possible? technically? Legally?

If both answers are yes, how many files consist the Google Map
JavaScript library? I need all of them available in the Intranet. One
file?

Thanks for your reply.

Section 9.1.1 of the Google Maps API TOS would prohibit this.

As stated in my response to your post yesterday, section 9.1.1 of the TOS would prohibit you from using the Google Maps API on a private intranet.

Sorry this is not possible. You might want to look into other mapping frameworks, that should suit this purpose better.

Using WMS is fine in itself, and possible, but you'll need to be online to load the Maps API. Furthermore, without a Premier license, your map will have to be public.

As suggested above, please have a read through of the terms of service:

Hi All,

I have a renewed cituation about this question. My purpose is: add WMS
base map layer to Gmap client. Our client is military and they do have
a premier license.

Now, are we allow to extend Gmap client to include WMS base layer?

Note this will be behind firewall, intranet only.

And technically, how to do this (extending GMap to use WMS base map).

Thanks.

Nothing has changed in the last two weeks

Sure, but ...

as said before

You cannot use the "Gmap client" (Maps API?) without internet access.
I'd suggest OpenLayers.

But behind a firewall is not without internet access.

With a Premier License they could use the Google Maps JavaScript API
v3 on an intranet. I can't answer the other part of the question, but
I would think it would be possible.
