Hello everyone,
 I have a problem with Google Map JS that I am unable to explain.

I have two different files in which I load the same JS libraries and perform the same actions in the same order. However, one of them displays a corrupted google map. There is an attached screenshot.

How you can see, there are some problems with the shadows: the map behind them is not drawn. There is also a strange 'pixelation' along the dialog with the geographical information.

Is there anyone who can help me?

I reckon your images have a background colour specified in CSS. That
overrides the transparency the maps images need.

If that's not the case then we'll need a link to do some analysis.

The (only) custom image is a GIF file with transparent background. The visualization does not change if I remove that image.

I will post a link to the page as soon as the site goes on-line.

Thank you for your answer.

No, you misunderstand me. In your CSS you have something like
img { background-color: #CCCCCC; }

which replaces the transparent parts of images with grey. You need to
countermand that for images in the map, perhaps with something like
#map img { background: transparent }
...but you may need to experiment.

Which of course will be too late. But better than nothing.
