Extract country border polygon

As I am working on a database that has a lot of lat/long coordinates I was wondering if it was possible that through the API

that if someone types in France that the server returns all the polygons of the france border and the belonging islands so i can do a

SQL comparison with the server to find all the lat/long coordinates in my database that are in that border.

The Natural Earth dataset is pretty good:
