remove existing business listings from standard map

I've just embedded a bog standard google map into an existing website to show a custom marker for the business location.

 

The problem is that the business is in a location which houses multiple businesses, one of which is a major competitor.

 

when I view the map, the name of the other business is already show on the map...

 

Is there a way to remove these "business listings" from my embedded map?
