Hi all,

After having a functioning google map on this site for over a year:

http://footprint.stanford.edu/compare.html

I have now suddenly started getting this error message whenever I load the page:

"Google has disabled use of the maps API for this application. The provided key is not a valid Google API Key, or it is not authorized for the Google Maps Javascript API v3 on this site..."

Then it gives a link for getting a valid API key.

I generated a key this way a year ago, but I went ahead and generated a new one, replaced it in the code, and I still get the error.

Any ideas?  As you can tell if you look at my code, I'm no expert.

Thanks for any help
bug

You need a Version 3 key. It's explained at the url in the message.

UPDATED LINK

sorry, I decided to take the page with the error down and replace it with a site maintenance message

But the problematic page is still viewable at this URL:

http://footprint.stanford.edu/compare2.html

this is now solved, the original site is back up, and the "compare2" temporary URL is gone
