Google Places API response using AJAX

Hi,
Anyone has any idea about how to get google API response using AJAX? I don't want to use any scripting language. Please help. We have tried all 3 methods of AJAX calling but response is coming null.

2. this is the Google Maps JavaScript API v3 group, not the group that
supports the Google Places API.
