Why? A geocoder produces coordinates from addresses, and the other
posters already have coordinates.

Have a look at Larry's port of one of Mike Williams' tutorials:
http://www.geocodezip.com/v3_MW_example_map3.html

The example uses an external library to download the file and parse
the XML it contains.
