Hi. I'm developing an application that will allow users to get certain information such as finding out the distance between two locations and getting directions via short text messages.

The terms of services say that I must include a live Google Map wherever I'm using the information that I get with the API... but I can't show a Google Map in a text message.

I couldn't find any reference to anything that might be related in the FAQ.

Is that ok to just add: "(c) Information provided by Google Maps" at the end of the message?

Thanks in advance,
Daniel.

That seems clear enough

You can't make up your own terms

Thanks for the reply!

I clearly got that, the question is whether there is some work-around
or alternative solution that I might've missed on the TOS and someone
here is familiar with.

Did you check other API's out there that may not require the map?

I'll add to that.

GoogleMaps API is specifically for maps, even though they do offer a lot of services bundled with it that could be used without maps, their Terms of Service for this particular API does require the map to be displayed among other things.

However, Google does provide several other APIs.  Have you checked if any of the other APIs that they provide would give you the results you are looking for and have Terms of Service that wouldn't require a map to be presented to the user?
