Mickey has written a roadmap for API v3 and posted it in the group.
For those of you who are eagerly awaiting certain issues, this is a
must read. Please let us know if anything is unclear. Enjoy! :)

- or copy & paste it into your browser's address bar if that doesn't
work.

Ack!  No Street View?  That's basic, right?

Is there planned release of the polylines and polygon rendering?

Ok now you are just showing off..

Great support group, guides, reference docs, samples, demo galleries,
articles, issues trackers AND changelogs..

Now a roadmap too.. You better wait until the rest of the products/
apis catch up, you're starting to make them look bad (seriously).

Thanks for the efforts.. they are very appreciated (and refreshing)

turned *polish* overnight. any idea how i can switch them to german,

Hi, we're still working on it but it's not quite ready yet.  As in v2, the default behavior is to set the language of the controls, etc. based on the browser's language preferences.  So, if you're seeing Polish, but you want to see another language, you should modify your browser's language settings appropriately.

I am working on a new public web site centered around the Google maps.
I do the geocoding on the server using the HTTP service and store it
in the database to save on the number of requests. I didn't see
anything about the future of the Geocoding HTTP Service in the V3
roadmap. Can I assume that the current service will be available for
quite some time? Any preliminary specs for the new HTTP geocoder if
there is such a thing?

Thanks

Fred

Hi Fred-

The HTTP Geocoding API is a separate API. Since that API is not in
labs, it will be around for atleast 3 years from now.
(More info here: http://code.google.com/labs/)

If at some point we release a new version of the HTTP Geocoder, it
will be announced on the blog.
Thanks!

Hi Pamela,

Thanks for the information! I just wondering would Direction service
for version 3 be released
someday next week (5 Oct)? Since I am building a site with version 3
and I need the
Direction service...

I would be appreciated if you could give me some suggestion whether
should I risk myself
to keep going to version 3?

Thanks

Hi Robert -

We can't give an exact timeline, but as we just released polys today,
directions is the next feature on our to-do list.

If you need to create a website that will launch in 1 week, then I
would suggest going with the API that has all the features you need
right now.
